Has anyone kayaked the Clinch river from the Blackford Bridge Boat launch?
How is it like? I'm not terribly strong and have kayaked mostly lakes, but i want to get in to more rivers.
IS the water particularly shallow or is the current strong? I tried kayaking the north fork holston from the clinch mountain landing for example but found certain areas of it the current was too strong for me to get back to my car without having to leave river and walk my kayak. the slow parts of the river were so shallow i beached my boat essentially and where it was deep enough that i could actually kayak the water was moving too fast for me and my crappy kayak to outpace it.
Just want to avoid THAT happening again.
If you have any other nice public boat launches please tell me about them too!
