Katahdin Ram pair - $900 (Wytheville)

12
Pair of Katahdin Rams out of DOC P 1844 (Pictured), his sire is DOC P 186 Second Coming his dam is DOC R 762 dam of First Ever, first Champion Katahdin Ram at NAILE. Second Coming first place fall ram as a lamb and second to Champion as a yearling and Doc Kennedy was still using in his flock when I purchased from him.

Both rams are white and good size, 250-300 lbs, born 2019 and have been together since birth. Due to Covid this is the first time they are offered for sale.

Both RR.
I have started the process of testing for Pneumonia Resistance (TMEM). So far one was tested and rated high (similar to RR which passes on like RR) the highest resistance that can be rated. Out of six sheep tested, 4 rated with the highest rating, and two tested similar to what QR would be like.

One is registered and priced at a discount to go with the one that is purebred but unregistered at 100%, and a great looking ram. This ram's dam is out of a ram out of The Old Man a very large Katahdin, and the most used ram in the US and Canada in the industry. His dam is a very correct ewe, and he is a very correct ram with good size.

The registered ram will be $600 on his own, and the unregistered $450.

They will make a good working pair. I halter them to trim their feet, which all rams are trained to pick up their feet like a horse for trimming (we start all lambs at 30 days, our ewes are trained this way as well).

Pictures are of their sire DOC P 1844 which we have sold

If the two rams offered are 'too big' for your ewes and your taste I have 3 rams (out of two different sires) born 2020 that you may really like. The first two rams will throw color. The third ram predominately white, he is out of TOR 16415 a top finisher of the Langston Univ. Test.

The first one is a thick brown ram w/a little white, out of one of our best foundation ewes dtr., superior milkers and mothers, he is priced @ $280.

The second ram is a long correct white ram with red spots all over, quite the handsome man and out of a very good mother, $250.

The third ram is from a solid white dtr. out of another foundation ewe from 2010 also solid white, he is a very correct ram, great hair coat, with very striking black speckling on face and legs over a very white soft coat $225. He is out of [TOR 16415 (sold)] pic. upon request.

I apologize I do not have pictures uploaded of the rams listed.
